Today was our first business visit of 2020. We spoke with Brittany Goldman, co-owner of Imperfectly Perfect Yoga in Pinckneyville. After having extensive hip surgery and over a year recovery a few years ago, Brittany began doing yoga to strengthen and rehabilitate her body. She and her sister in law, Arielle Kellerman , would drive to Nashville for classes. This business was born out of a desire to bring classes close to home to eliminate driving time. After doing research on other yoga studios and certification requirements, they decided they could make it happen! Starting a business like this requires finding a building to rent or purchase, filing your business name with the state and county, figuring out how much to charge, figuring out expenses, and making sure there is a need for this service in your area.
They found out quickly that this was, indeed, a desire of many community members, as their clientele has grown from 25 to about 200 since they opened the studio in November!
Both Brittany and Arielle strive to put family first in this business, and as a result have hired 2 other instructors to carry the class load
As a busy mom and also principal of St. Bruno's, we thank Brittany for her time spent with us this morning.
